Lose Weight Before The Wedding

For most brides, weight loss and and exercise is often the most nervous part of the wedding planning process, especially if you are hoping to squeeze into a size smaller gown.  Losing weight before the wedding can be very important to some brides and they go to the extreme to make it happen. Make sure that if you plan on trying to lose weight before the wedding, that you do so in a very safe manner, typically 2 lbs per week weight loss is healthy.

Stressing out about losing weight can actually have the adverse effect-you can put on those pre-wedding pounds due to the chemical in balance going on in your body. Here are some common sense tips we suggest you follow:

-Limit Stress

-Drink 8-1o glasses of water per day

-Get at least 8 hours of sleep per night

-Limit your salt intake

-Eliminate alcohol and soft drinks from your diet until after the wedding

-Don’t eliminate carbs. Carbs are brain food and keep your organs going. Opt for carbs that are in their most natural form-rice, grains, and potatoes.

-Increase your protein intake-try to have at least 2 oz with each meal.

-Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day, 3 main meals with 2 snacks in between.

-Small Twitch muscle excercise- the most common: Walking. This exercise, if done frequent and at a decent speed, actually starts burning fat, instead of just sugar like some exercises.

-If you don’t like doing a certain exercise- stop. You are more likely to stick with a plan if you enjoy what you are doing.

-Resistance Training. Extremely light weight with high repetitions or using resistance bands. While you are forming your lean muscles you are burning calories while your body is resting- that means during sleep, when you are eating, and even when you are watching your favorite shows or at work.

Smart Tip of the month: If you don’t already have a gym membership-go ahead and sign up for a term. Most gyms offer a personal trainer session or two if you become a member. The long term effect is good health and picking up some great pointers from professional fitness instructors.
